Michael Galbraith

Congressional Candidate for Ohio's 5th District

Dear Neighbor,

I am running for office because Ohioans in our district deserve a voice in Congress that works to find common sense solutions to the issues we all face.

For the past ten years, District 5’s current representative, Bob Latta, has refused to meet with constituents who disagree with him. Time and time again, he has voted against the best interests of families in order to maintain an unwavering party line. In the midst of the economic meltdown, he voted to defund the Children’s Health Insurance Program. And he voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, putting hundreds of thousands of Ohioans at risk of losing their health insurance--without offering any real solutions to make health care more affordable. Latta’s voting record speaks for itself: he does not have the interests of Ohioans at heart.

I believe it’s time to put partisan politics aside and start working together to make real, positive change. Most importantly, I believe the first job of our representatives in Congress is to listen to constituents. During the summer of 2017, I will travel throughout our District to hear what concerns and ideas you—the residents of Northwest and West Central Ohio—would like your representative to take to Washington.

We are in the midst of a massive shift in politics, a shift that is bringing back the central importance of you in deciding how we run the country. Please join me in this race to Flip the Fifth.
